Love love love. The food here is delicious. Tucked away in a cute little arcade on Doncaster road. You can tell the lovely owner Ruth here cooks with love. 100 percent worth a visit!!
Don't be put off by the location up a quiet lane and small, homely nature of the restaurant, the food here is amazing! Some of the best Chinese Malaysian food I've ever had!
one of the very best localized Chinese food (Chaoshan cuisine) Melbourne has to offer, run by one of the nicest ladies around, Aunty Ruth. love coming in for a quick lunch or a full blown out dinner with friends, all of whom have always only had rave reviews about the food. always order the marinated platter, the fried prawn rolls (minced prawns pork and chestnuts) and the best oyster omelette Melbourne has to offer. then top it up with whatever Aunty Ruth has on offer for the day, usually made with the freshest ingredients that she personally buys in the mornings. hot tip: befriend Aunty Ruth and get access to all the delightful off menu items.
Was good to see some familiar dishes that we've enjoyed in Asia. Unfortunately, food service was a tad slow however this was understandable as the owner herself takes the orders and cooks the dishes herself. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and Ruth, the owner, was lovely. Definitely worth the visit if you enjoy Teochew/Chaozhou-style dishes.
